Infiniti Planning 3-Door Hatchback

According to a recent report, Infiniti is developing a three-door hatchback to compete with other auto makers globally, who have also introduced successful hatchbacks.
Details are limited, but Auto Car reported the coupe-like hatch will likely be based on the next-generation A-Class. Back in April, Infiniti and Mercedes signed a cooperative agreement to share platforms and engine technology.
A thinly veiled concept will debut at the Geneva Motor Show, before the production version is unveiled next fall.
M-Series from Infiniti was originally rumored to have a smaller variant as well. A coupe was also in the works, until Infiniti went to the G series convertible instead.
M-Series cars are still available, and selling like crazy at your local Infiniti dealer. The M56's new 5.6-liter V-8 engine offers 30-percent more power than its predecessor. The V-8 generates 420 horsepower and 417 pound-feet of torque, driving a seven-speed automatic transmission.
Infiniti advises that in a rear-drive M56 model, the V-8 earns a highway fuel-economy estimate of 25 mpg. The city-driving figure is around 16 mpg.
With all-wheel drive, the M56x dips to 16-mpg city/23-mpg highway. Infiniti's V-6 engine also shows improved gas mileage, now rated at 18-mpg city/26-mpg highway with rear-wheel drive, and 17/24 mpg with all-wheel drive.
