As the crossover market continues to grow, many luxury brands, such as Infiniti, are starting to take note. While the luxury crossover market may seem to be a little niche, that hasn't stopped Infiniti from announcing a new player in this up-and-coming segment.

Specifically, the Japanese automaker is looking to save those who are sick of the "safe choices" that fill up the market. And, at Passport Infiniti of Alexandria, we are excited to see what Nissan's luxury arm has in store for crossover-buyers who are looking for something a bit edgier.

The new Infiniti JX Crossover is set to hit dealerships, like ours at 160 S Pickett Street Alexandria, VA 22304 as a 2013 model. While we only have a concept sketch to go off of, we have been told that this new model will stay true to the Essence concept car design that has influenced so many other Infiniti models. In other words: color us excited for this one!

"There aren't a lot of choices for luxury families today. The all-new Infiniti JX is the 7-passenger antidote to the ho-hum luxury crossovers that are out there right now," added Ben Poore, vice president of Infiniti Americas. "The Infiniti JX will have a stunning interior, while offering exceptional seating flexibility, easy access to the roomy third row, plus the latest in-vehicle technology, including next-generation telematics. A fitting addition to our line, it will challenge the status quo in its class."¹

While we are in for a bit of a wait for the JX Crossover's launch, there are two big dates to look forward to for more information. First: a concept model will be shown at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in August. This is a huge step up from the concept sketch we've already seen. Second: in November, a full production model is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. This is the one we're excited for most, aside from the actual launch of the vehicle that is.
