Infiniti EX Blind Spot Warning System

Infiniti is adding something special to their security systems in all 2011 EX (EX35) models. Owners of the system for 2011 will have an audible and visible signal to draw attention of drivers to any other cars falling in the blind spot. When activated, as the driver goes to change lanes, a warning sound is issued if there is a possibility of risk; in other words, a vehicle in your blind spot. The automaker expects with this added security feature, the EX GT Premium models will become even more secure.

The Blind Spot Warning is another "feather in the cap for Infiniti," joining with their Intelligent Cruise Control, Intelligent Brake Assist, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Prevention to enhance the Dynamic Safety Shield's capabilities further. Lane Departure Prevention will be available standard on the GT Premium's V6 model.

Infiniti's EX line continues to be powered by the a 3.5-liter DOHC V6. This engine provides 297 horsepower. Factor in that the EX weighs only 3,979 lbs, acceleration isn't far off that of the Infiniti G. Nissan's VQ engine, which this Infiniti powerplant is based on, has received much praise since its introduction. In Europe, the EX is kicked up to a 3.7-liter V6, but US audiences have to make due with 3.5, due to emissions standards.
