There is a first time for everything, even for Infiniti. The Japanese luxury automaker has never made an appearance at the renowned Frankfurt Motor Show, but this year that changed. Why did Infiniti opt to show up at this year's show? Simple: They wanted to show off their new plan to gain a larger share in the luxury market.

We here at Passport Infiniti of Alexandria are thrilled to see our favorite luxury brand taking such a dramatic step in the right direction. The Frankfurt Motor Show is the premier event of its kind, so it would make sense to say that the world's eyes were on Infiniti this week.

In order to gain a larger market share, Infiniti has set an aggressive sales goal of roughly 500,000 vehicles by 2016. That would equate to a ten percent increase in their market share!

To further drive this new plan, Infiniti has announced that they will increase the size of their lineup by a full 10 models by the end of 2012. They are also planning to expand the areas where they offer their vehicles, entering new geographical markets.

Another aspect of the Japanese automaker's plan involves what kind of vehicles they'll produce. More specifically, they're planning to launch a new zero-emission luxury sedan. The fact that they're doing this only goes to further prove that Infiniti will capture more of the luxury market by doing what they do best: designing new technologies and appealing to the wants and needs of drivers around the world.
